For years, Disney has quietly kept The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) in circulation long after most holiday releases fade.
In 2022, the studio restored the long-missing song “When Love Is Gone,” reintroducing the original full version of the film on Disney+.
Last year, collectible advent calendars arrived, including a 12-day plush set and a 24-day limited-edition pin release, both tied directly to the film’s characters and imagery.
This winter, for the sixth year in a row, Disney is bringing the film back to theaters—as part of a nationwide event. The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert – Live to Film is returning for a 15-date UK tour, with stops planned in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and additional cities.
Instead of a standard screening, each performance pairs the 1992 classic with a live orchestra performing the score in sync with the movie.
The original score was composed by Miles Goodman (“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Little Shop of Horrors”) with songs by Oscar®, Emmy® and Grammy®-winning songwriter Paul Williams (“Rainbow Connection”, “Evergreen”).

Directed by Brian Henson and led by Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge, the iconic film blends Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with the Muppets’ ensemble cast, including Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Gonzo as narrator.
Disney’s official description of the performance reads:
“Disney’s The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert Live to Film is set for a 15-date UK tour this festive season, featuring a screening of the film while the musical score is performed live by an orchestra.
Each performance will feature a full orchestra performing the score live, timed to the film. For more information, visit the official website.
