New Disney World Additions Are About To Change Crowd Levels Across All 4 Parks

Walt Disney World is about to enter a very different kind of summer.

For a while, some guests noticed lighter crowd levels on certain weekdays. There were even moments where parts of the resort felt calmer than expected. But Disney now appears ready to flip that trend completely.

The company is rolling out new attractions, returning experiences, major entertainment additions, and aggressive discounts all at once. That combination has the potential to bring massive crowds back to the parks very quickly.

The biggest warning sign may be Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The park already struggles with capacity issues because so many of its attractions are headliners. Slinky Dog Dash continues pulling huge waits almost daily, while Rise of the Resistance, Tower of Terror, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway regularly stay packed for hours.

Now Disney is adding even more demand.

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Featuring The Muppets is expected to become one of the resort’s hottest attractions immediately. Disney fans have followed every update surrounding the retheme, and opening weeks could bring extremely long standby lines as guests rush to experience the coaster for themselves.

At the same time, Disney is introducing Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, which could significantly increase the number of younger families spending time inside Hollywood Studios. The park has historically leaned heavily toward thrill rides and Star Wars experiences, so adding another major family offering changes the dynamic quite a bit.

Animation Courtyard’s ongoing transformation is also helping fuel interest. Disney fans love experiencing refreshed park areas, especially when entertainment and character experiences are involved.

But Hollywood Studios is not the only park preparing for heavier crowds.

EPCOT is getting a major boost from the return of Soarin’ Across America. The original version of the attraction has remained incredibly popular with longtime fans, and many people see its comeback as one of the most exciting nostalgia plays Disney has made in years.

Then there is Cool Kid Summer.

Disney is clearly targeting families this season with dance parties, kid-focused offerings, entertainment, and character experiences. Bluey may become one of the biggest attendance drivers of the entire summer because of how popular the character has become with younger audiences.

That matters because family travel usually impacts the entire resort.

Hotels fill up faster. Bus lines get longer. Dining reservations disappear earlier. Lightning Lane prices often increase as demand rises. Even guests visiting for completely different reasons may suddenly find themselves dealing with heavier crowds.

Disney’s newer VIP-style offerings are also changing guest behavior. Annual Passholders continue receiving exclusive benefits, while resort guests use Early Entry and Extended Evening Hours to maximize attraction access before general crowds arrive.

All of this is happening while Disney pushes vacation discounts designed to bring more people back into the parks.

Put everything together, and Disney World could be heading toward one of its busiest summers since before the pandemic era changes fully reshaped the resort.

Guests planning trips soon may want to prepare accordingly.
