The Mandalorian & Grogu (2026) brought Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his apprentice to the big screen for the first time. But while the film struggled at the box office, earning $342.4 million worldwide against its $165 million budget, their future in Star Wars is far from over.
Directed by Jon Favreau and written by Dave Filoni, Noah Kloor, and Favreau, The Mandalorian & Grogu stars Pedro Pascal (Din Djarin), Sigourney Weaver (Colonel Ward), and Jeremy Allen White (Rotta the Hutt). It follows the titular bounty hunter and the young Force-wielder on a brand-new galaxy-hopping adventure set after the events of Season 3 of the Disney+ series.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Have Already Returned
Although the movie struggled to match the excitement surrounding previous Star Wars theatrical releases while also underperforming commercially, the duo will continue appearing across several upcoming projects, including two new games and an animated LEGO special.
The Mandalorian: Adventures – Sworn to the Creed Expansion will relive the events of The Mandalorian Season 1 and serves as the second major expansion for Unexpected Games' popular cooperative board game. The expansion, which features Grogu, releases on July 31.
Din Djarin also recently appeared in Fantasy Flight Games' Ashes of the Empire, the eighth set for the Star Wars: Unlimited trading card game, which launched on July 17.
Additionally, LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian (2026) has been confirmed to premiere on Disney+ on September 2.

The Mandalorian (2019) originally launched on Disney+ in 2019 and quickly became one of the biggest Star Wars successes of the modern era. Din Djarin and Grogu, who fans initially called “Baby Yoda,” became one of the franchise's most popular pairings.
The series also expanded into the “Mando-Verse,” which included The Book of Boba Fett (2021), Ahsoka (2023), and Skeleton Crew (2024), while The Mandalorian itself ran for three seasons.
Where Din Djarin and Grogu go next remains to be seen, but Lucasfilm is clearly not finished with the beloved duo.
The Mandalorian & Grogu arrives on digital platforms on July 21.
