The Last Ronin: A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Novel, released in June, brings IDW's acclaimed comic book story to prose, expanding the emotional journey of the final surviving Turtle.
Written by Erik Burnham and published by Abrams Books, the novel follows the lone warrior as he returns to a dystopian future New York City to avenge the deaths of his three brothers.
While the original comic became one of TMNT's most popular modern stories, this new adaptation adds more scenes, flashbacks, and character moments, allowing readers to experience the “Roninverse” in a completely different way.
And surprisingly, the prose format may be exactly what this story needed.

The story also embraces its darker tone, exploring trauma, grief, depression, and other mature themes while delivering the brutal action fans expected from the original comic.
