Disney World Guests Now Being Turned Away From Magic Kingdom on Sold-Out Dates

Showing up at Magic Kingdom and hoping to buy a ticket for one of Disney World's biggest after-hours events is becoming a risky strategy.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is underway at Walt Disney World, and the list of sold-out nights continues to grow. Disney has now stopped selling tickets for two additional dates, leaving guests without advance admission unable to attend those parties.

Sunday, August 23, and Thursday, October 8, are the latest dates to reach capacity.

For anyone planning to attend the Halloween event, the message is becoming increasingly clear: don't assume tickets will still be waiting when you arrive.

Disney World Adds Two More Sold-Out Dates

Disney has run out of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets for August 23 and October 8.

The two dates join a growing collection of unavailable nights. Thursday, October 15, also recently sold out.

With the latest changes, only 22 party dates remain available for purchase.

The August 23 sellout could create the most immediate problems for guests because the party is happening in just a few days. Anyone arriving at Walt Disney World without an event ticket won't be able to purchase one for that night.

October 8 selling out this far in advance also shows that guests aren't necessarily waiting until the last minute.

Regular Magic Kingdom Admission Won't Get You Into the Party

A sold-out party doesn't mean Magic Kingdom itself is unavailable for the entire day.

Guests can still visit with valid regular admission during normal park hours. However, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticketed event.

When Magic Kingdom transitions to party operations, regular daytime guests cannot stay for the Halloween event unless they also have a party ticket.

That makes planning particularly important on party days.

Someone could spend the morning and afternoon riding attractions at Magic Kingdom but still need to leave before the Halloween festivities begin. If that night's party has already sold out, there isn't an option to simply purchase admission and remain inside.

Only Three August Dates Remain Available

Guests hoping to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party before September are quickly running out of choices.

Following the August 23 sellout, only August 25, August 28, and August 30 remain available during the month.

August 25 tickets cost $144, while August 28 and August 30 cost $149.

More options remain in September, with available dates ranging from September 1 through September 29.

Prices also increase as the season moves forward.

September 1 costs $149, while September 29 reaches $184.

October Party Tickets Reach $224

October brings some of the highest ticket prices still available.

October 1 costs $189, while October 2 and October 4 are priced at $199.

Guests attending later in the month will pay even more. October 16, October 18, and October 22 cost $219, while October 23, October 25, and October 27 reach $224.

Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 on select dates.

With only 22 parties remaining and additional nights now disappearing, guests with a specific date in mind may not want to wait.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party still has plenty of nights available, but Disney has already shown that tickets can disappear weeks in advance.

Once a date sells out, guests arriving without a party ticket won't be getting through the gates for that night's event.
