Anticipation Builds for ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ as Fans Demand Answers

The Jurassic franchise is roaring back to life with Jurassic World Rebirth. First announced in January, this seventh installment in the long-running series has steadily built anticipation over the past few months.

With Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) directing, David Koepp (Jurassic Park) penning the screenplay, and Steven Spielberg serving as executive producer, Rebirth marks the dawn of a “new Jurassic era.”

Set five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion (2022), the latest sequel explores the aftermath of dinosaurs coexisting with humans. However, as teased in the synopsis, “the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs.” The few that survive have retreated to “isolated equatorial environments with climates.”

This new approach raises the stakes and adds a layer of urgency to the story.

At the heart of Jurassic World Rebirth is Zora Bennett, played by Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame). A covert operations expert, Zora is tasked with leading a mission to collect DNA samples from three of the most colossal dinosaurs—representing land, sea, and air. But when her team encounters a civilian family marooned on an island after a dinosaur attack, the stakes escalate. Together, they face off against prehistoric predators and unearth a sinister secret that has been buried for decades.

Joining Johansson is an impressive cast that includes Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton), Mahershala Ali (Green Book), and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer). With such a talented lineup, the film promises gripping performances to match its thrilling premise.

Production for Jurassic World Rebirth wrapped recently, with the crew capturing scenes in diverse and visually stunning locations. Filming took place in Thailand’s national parks, the underwater tanks at Malta Film Studios, Sky Studios Elstree in the UK, and even in the bustling streets of New York City. According to director Gareth Edwards, the film is now deep in post-production as the July 2025 release date inches closer.

But while filming is complete, fans have grown restless waiting for the first trailer. Historically, trailers for Jurassic World and its sequels premiered six to seven months ahead of their respective releases. However, Jurassic World Dominion was an exception due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. For Rebirth, the trailer could arrive as early as January 2025, though that hasn’t stopped fans from flooding social media with memes and GIFs expressing their impatience.
