Another voice has once again made itself known about the “woke Disney” debate, slamming the Mouse House for its stance.
For a few months now, the battle between Disney and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has brought up debates over the supposed wokeness of The Walt Disney Company. From the controversies with the Bud Light commercials (during which time Disney also came under fire) to the controversies involving the gender-fluid influencer, many feel Disney has aligned itself with “left-leaning politics.”

Attorney Julian Epstein Says Disney “Lost” Culture War With Florida
Specifically speaking on the subject in the context of Disney speaking out against Governor DeSantis’ “Don’t Say Gay” bill (officially called the Parental Rights in Education Act), attorney Julian Epstein asserted that Disney “lost” the culture war because it adopted Hollywood’s stance on the matter.
As reported by GBN Britain’s News Channel, Epstein shared, “It was a bill that was very popular in Florida, not just with Republicans but with many Democrats”, he said. “Disney decided to wade in and oppose and end up losing the fight.”
“Part of that ongoing controversy is seeing the Governor of Florida imposing rules that would crack down on the self-governance Disney has.” He continued. “Florida took it away and Disney claimed it was political retaliation. The Governor said that if Florida were going to be political actors, they’re certainly not going to get privileges from the state.”
The attorney even went so far as to say Disney has become the “epitome” of “Go Woke Go Broke.”
For those who have been following the battle between Disney and DeSantis, the Mouse House has accused the Florida Governor of a “campaign to weaponize government power.”
The battle involved bitter lawsuits and constant back-and-forths between the two parties. It briefly seemed like Disney was going to back away from political battles, especially after Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, said they were going to “quiet the noise” in this war.
However, just this week the company’s lawyers have announced they are suing DeSantis’ specially hand-picked CFTOD board once again.
Only time will tell how the battle will play out.
