Fans of Disney’s 1991 hit film Beauty and the Beast will probably know that one of the things that connected Belle and the Beast was his incredible library. Belle loved to read, and the Beast had nearly every book imaginable in his immense library. Once they became closer, Belle would read classics as the Beast listened and began to fall in love with the beautiful girl.

At Disneyland Resort, guests can actually venture into the Beast’s Library. The library is located inside the Animation Building at Disney California Adventure Park. It is full of gorgeous artwork, including the painting of Prince Adam and the Enchanted Rose. Guests can even take a quiz to find out which Disney character they are!

Unfortunately, the Beast’s Library will be closing forever in just a few weeks. The last day that guests will be able to walk inside the magical area is December 10.

NEW: The Blue Sky Cellar at Disney California Adventure Park will be transformed into a Disney Vacation Club Welcome Home Center. Disneyland says more information will be shared at a later date.

Update: Disney Imagination Campus will move from The Blue Sky Cellar to Beast’s Library in the Disney Animation Building. The last day for guests to experience Beast’s Library will be on Dec. 10.

According to Disney, the area will be closing and transformed into a new Imagination Campus at The Happiest Place on Earth. The Imagination Campus area used to be located in the Blue Sky Cellar, by Pixar Pier. The Beast’s Library is much larger than the Blue Sky Cellar area, so Disney will have a much larger space to work with.

The Blue Sky Cellar was the location where Disney would share images and information on new experiences coming to Disneyland Resort. Before Paradise Pier reopened as Pixar Pier in 2018, guests were able to venture into Blue Sky Cellar and see what kinds of attractions, eateries, and shopping spots would be coming to the new area.

The closing of Beast’s Library upset a lot of guests, especially those who ventured into the area to enjoy the air conditioning, the incredible details, and the relaxation the area offered.

The Beast’s Library was such a magical place. It really felt like a secret room hidden away from all the hustle and bustle of the park. I can’t believe it’s closing.

Here’s Siddhartha exploring the library and finding out his character is Nemo.

Lol. the pondering.?

Although the Beast’s Library was rarely packed to the brim, it was beloved by the people who did visit it. It was one of those places that offered an extra touch of that Disney magic people love.

Although the Beast’s Library will be closed, the other attractions within the Animation Building will remain open. Guests will still be able to learn how to draw some of their favorite Disney characters at the Animation Academy. They will also be able to enjoy a conversation with Crush from Finding Nemo (2003) at Turtle Talk With Crush.

At this time, we do not know when the new Imagination Campus area will open. We also do not know when guests will be able to visit the new area or what will be featured when it does open.

Disney Fanatic will keep readers updated as we learn more about the new Imagination Campus.
