The Best Walk-Up Dining Spot at Disney World has No Walk-Up List

It seems that everywhere you go around the Walt Disney World Resort nowadays, you need a reservation made far in advance. A Disney World dining reservation, a Disney Theme Park Reservation, even a ride reservation in the form of Lightning Lane access. In recent days, the powers that be at Disney World have attempted to make dining more accessible by equipping certain table-service restaurants with a walk-up list.

However, the best walk-up option at Disney World does not even have a walk-up list available. In fact, the past two times I have visited there, I have had no reservation and waited a total of five minutes at peak lunch and dinner time. The Disney World restaurant I am talking about is The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs.

While Guests need an advance dining reservation to secure a proper table, The BOATHOUSE offers expansive bar space, both inside and outside over the water, that is entirely first come, first served, and bar seats offer full restaurant service. The bar seats offer plenty of space for drinks, entrees, and shareable sides (like the delicious truffle fries), and are tended to by some of the friendliest, most personable bar tenders and wait staff found on Disney Property. This means that the only difficult part is finding space at the bar for groups larger than four people.

The food and drinks are also always amazing (guys, every girl needs a Duck Duck Razz cocktail once in her life), and definitely worth the price.

But, again, the bar area is perpetually up for grabs so it is not a guarantee. If you are with a party of five or more, I would still recommend trying to get a dining reservation. But, for date nights or double dates, scoring seats from an impromptu stop-in is more than a good possibility.

So, the next time you are trying to decide last-minute Disney dining plans, keep The BOATHOUSE in mind.
