We have seen plenty of rumors keeping the rumor mill running in recent months when it comes to Disney news, ranging from the replacement of Mickey Mouse to the permanent closure of the Animal Kingdom Park. Now, another falsehood has taken social media by storm — and this time, it involves the precious Cinderella Castle!

While visiting the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort recently, a TikTok user (whose handle is @sachaofficialmusic) shared some disturbing footage of Cinderella Castle.

This Disney princess castle is the backdrop for many major Disney events (such as the Festival of Fantasy parade) and iconic photo opportunities — not to mention nighttime spectaculars (such as the Disney Enchantment nighttime spectacular or Happily Ever After), so seeing smoke billowing from the magical Disney castle was a sight that garnered more than 2.5 million views on TikTok!

Upon closer inspection, it looks like there is simply a trick of the light happening. Shadows have made the Cinderella Castle look as if its structure is on fire, at least from where this TikTok user is filming on Main Street, U.S.A., but no fires or injuries were reported.

Although footage from Disney Park Guests that is shared on social media can be helpful in certain circumstances, false information can also be shared promptly — and the sight of Cinderella’s fairy tale princess castle burning certainly brought some unnecessary stress to some TikTok users’ (and Disney enthusiasts’) days!
