Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort Cast Members have been put through the wringer in recent months, as they combine union disputes over low wages with confrontational Disney Park Guests and other not-so-magical challenges.

Disney heiress Abigail Disney has already shed some light on just how badly some Disney employees are struggling financially, but someone else has also shed some additional light on the subject — and it includes the upsetting truth about some Disney workers’ accommodations!

In a book called “Sunbelt Blues: The Failure of American Housing” by author Andrew Ross, many Disney World Resort Cast Members spoke to Ross about being underpaid, overworked, and resorting (pun not intended) to taking shelter in their cars in between shifts at the Disney Parks in Florida.

One of the Cast Members who spoke to Ross was 31-year-old Cast Member Gabby Alcantara-Anderson, who has been a Disney employee for almost ten years.

Gabby Alcantara-Anderson is a parent now, but she still sometimes has to sleep in her vehicle instead of going home to her children because she lives almost two hours away from Disney World and can’t afford to pay for gas.

Apparently, the Cast Member and mother also feels too drained from a day of Disney work to tend to her children as fully as she would like to when she does get to drive home. Many Cast Members have spoken about experiencing poverty-level living conditions or working multiple jobs to make ends meet, but this story is particularly shocking!

Alcantara-Anderson also told Ross that she knows some other Cast Members who live in one small apartment (even though there are nine of them) and sleep on the floor!

Disney Cast Members can be helped through the Cast Member Food Pantry, but many Disney Guests and Disney fans will also be surprised that the Walt Disney Company is not already doing more for its employees and ensuring that every single employee is able to pay for food, housing, and any medical expenses or essentials without struggling.

Did you know that Disney World Cast Members were having such a hard time?
