Disney Guests Upset With More Instances of “Extremely Rude” Cast Members

Disney Guests have been particularly upset with Cast Members being “extremely rude” and wondering if it’s because of the holiday season.

The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are incredible destinations for a Disney vacation. Walt Disney World is home to four incredible Theme Parks—Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The Disney Resort and each Disney Park have Guests flocking to them for a magical Disney experience. The heart of this experience are the Disney Cast Members.

However, recently, a Disney Guest shared a less-than-wonderful experience they had at a Disney Resort, particularly because of Cast Members’ behavior during their time at the Parks.

u/CandyAdept8602 shared their experience at Disneyland Resort on Reddit recently, explaining,

I was at Disneyland in September and again in December so I’m not sure if it’s the holiday season (because this did not happen a few months ago) but from the moment we got into the Toy Story parking lot, through security, etc — all cast members (ride operators and vendors) we have had such bad experiences. My group and I work in service industries so we always approach kindly with a greeting but have been met with bitter attitudes, short responses, and sassy remarks. I asked about a return policy and the CM didn’t realize my friend was with me and she heard them talking shit about my question as soon as I walked away from the register. I turned around and she gave me a sassy smile back… what is in the air? I understand holidays are stressful but we pay a lot of money to be here and it’s really ruining the experience for us.

Most commenters took the opportunity to share their wonderful and more positive experiences with Cast Members during their time at the Southern California Disney Resort. A few Guests shared that this was a common experience, especially after the pandemic. Some Guests even pointed out that people needed to stop putting CMs on pedestals and they weren’t infallible.

While many Guests echoed the sentiment that it was just the Guest and no one else had these experiences. But one Cast Member u/kaypond, shared their thoughts,

Coming from a cast member- the amount of comments saying “it’s just you” are ridiculous. Yes, there are many underpaid, overworked cast members with poor attitudes who are misdirecting their frustrations towards guests. Just because others haven’t personally encountered these CMs doesn’t mean they don’t exist. They don’t represent the majority, thankfully most CMs are great.

It’s important to note this was one Guest’s experience with Cast Members, and most CMs work and train hard to be good at their jobs.
