A Disney cast member posted a literal cry for help online after reportedly going through “really bad treatment” from management.
The Disney cast members are the heart and soul of the Disney experience. From making sure guests who pay a lot of money to be at the parks experience the Disney magic they’ve been hoping for, to quite literally making sure the parks run and function as they’re meant to, there’s a lot of work that goes into making sure Disney runs the way it needs to.

However, many times, cast members have spoken out about how management treats them, noting that they were not happy with either the level of compensation for their work, or sometimes even noting how guest behavior was less-than-satisfactory with regard to how guests spoke to and interacted with cast members.
One cast member recently took to social media to ask for help in a situation where they were at a loss for what to do, considering how badly they were being treated by management.

The cast member wrote, “I desperately need some help please!!! I started working at attractions about 10 months ago and I decided to transfer to 3rd shift only because I needed a full time job. Long story short I regret it with all my heart. They have been treating really bad. I have had so many bad experiences in these 3 months as a 3rd shift to the point I don’t want to go anymore.”
The cast member further detailed that they had faced “verbal abuse” and that management was “the worst.” The Disneyland employee (referred to as a cast member in Disney parlance) continued that they were not able to turn in their two weeks’ notice and, despite wanting to quit, were unable to find a way to make that happen.
The post was their last resort to try to find a way out of this situation.
Fellow former CMs and professionals in the comments were supportive and empathetic to the CM’s situation, but also gave them practical advice.
One wrote, “Do things the right way and don’t burn any bridges or if you’re having a breakdown, seek medical advice and there may be medical leave as an option while you sort. Do it all by the book and it keeps all doors open.”
Another added, “Bummer about the stressful situation. Any way to file a formal complaint about the verbal abuse? Maybe that person has been in hot water before for doing that to someone else? And if you feel quitting is the only option, do it the right way by putting in a two-week notice.”
Many advised the CM to call their union rep and involve their union in the matter.
It’s important to note that this was one cast member’s experience with Disney management and does not reflect every employee’s time at and with the parks.
