Months after the Moana attraction opened to the public for fans to enjoy at EPCOT, CMs and guests finally spotted a new Hidden Mickey.
One of the best things about going to the Walt Disney World Resort is the lesser-known nuances that make the trip special, and one of the most beloved Disney fandom secrets is that of the hidden Mickeys. While there’s a lot to love at Walt Disney World (rides and attractions like Space Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, to name a few), sometimes, the joy comes from the simpler and pure experience of finding and seeing something nobody else could.
Recently, fans and cast members all found another hidden Mickey at the Disney Park, months after a new attraction opened.

New Hidden Mickey Spotted in EPCOT
Earlier this week, fans took to social media to share and debate the presence of a new Hidden Mickey at the new EPCOT attraction inspired by Moana—Journey of Water.
As the OP described, “[Mickey] looks like he’s standing with [both his] arms surfer style on a surfboard. Try zooming into the water and scrolling up to find the tip of the “surfboard”. The more I look at it I also see a boat.”

The Hidden Mickey—dubbed “Surfer Mickey” by cast members—inspired a heated debate that resulted in moderators needing to step in and remind fans to treat each other with kindness. Many couldn’t see the Mickey and insisted it wasn’t intentional and was a “stretch.”
However, one Walt Disney Imagineering executive producer confirmed that this Mickey was, in fact, intentional.
What is a Hidden Mickey?
As planDisney explains, a Hidden Mickey is “a tribute to Mickey Mouse placed by the Disney Imagineers who designed and constructed the attractions, Walt Disney World Resorts, and theme parks.”

How Many Hidden Mickeys are in Disney World?
It is rumored that there are 1000 Hidden Mickeys at Disney World, although the Walt Disney Company has not released a comprehensive list of all the Disney World Hidden Mickeys fans might be able to find.
