Cole Sprouse Says No to ‘Suite Life’ Reboot

If you’re not a fan of Riverdale or Hungarian Victoria’s Secret Angela Barbara Palvin, then the last time that you thought about Dylan Sprouse and Cole Sprouse might have been back in 2008 when their hit Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody ended (or perhaps when their spin-off series Suite Life on Deck ended in 2011).

But some fans of the Disney Channel Suite Life shows have never stopped appreciating their value — and those fans are in for some disappointment when it comes to a Suite Life of Zack and Cody reboot!

Cole Sprouse, the actor who played Cody Martin on the show (which followed the adventures of twin boys living in the Tipton Hotel in New York City), recently spoke to the New York Times and openly declared his lack of interest in a reboot for the Disney Channel show.

“I don’t think I’ll ever return to that,” Sprouse said in the interview. “Not that I have a problem with other people doing the reboots thing. I’m just a big believer that if something is beautiful in the past, you should let it stay beautiful”.

The Disney Channel star also brought up a good metaphor for reboots. “To bring it into the future feels a bit like reheating a really good, fresh meal in the microwave,” he pointed out. “It would be hard to be in my 30s and go, ‘Zack and Cody are back, man!’”

These days, Cole Sprouse has found his fame rekindled after starring in the series Riverdale and starring in the new movie Moonshot alongside Lana Condor (from the Netflix To All the Boys films). However, the actor also told the New York Times that fame was a real “trauma”, and that experiences like watching his female co-stars on the Disney Channel being “heavily sexualized” have left him disillusioned with the industry.

The actor, archaeologist, and fashion photographer initially didn’t want to get back into acting after graduating from NYU, and did so only at the request of his manager, but starting work on the CW series Riverdale did remind him that he still “very much [loves] the art of acting” despite the toll that fame takes.

Dylan Sprouse has had some movie roles, but his main following these days seems to stem from his relationship with widely-beloved Hungarian model Barbara Palvin (a model who has worked with Victoria’s Secret, Sports Illustrated Swim, and Armani). The pair of celebrities created an Instagram miniseries that follows the construction of their luxurious cabin in the woods, which is called Breaking Ground.

“In an ideal world, when Riverdale finishes, I would love to be doing one to two movies a year and photography the rest of the time,” Cole Sprouse concluded in the interview. “And the logical intersection of those two worlds will eventually be directing.” So while it sounds like this Disney Channel alumnus is keeping busy, it also seems like he is most certainly moving farther away from the Tipton Hotel!
