If you’re planning a Disney trip in 2025, you might want to take note—some big changes are coming, and they could affect your visit! Refurbishments are a regular part of keeping Disney World fresh, but that also means a few favorite spots will be closing for a while. The good news? They’ll come back better than ever!
One of the first major closures of the year will be Sebastian’s Bistro at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Starting on March 24, 2025, the restaurant will shut its doors for a short refurbishment. Disney expects it to reopen by the end of the month, but guests staying at the resort in the meantime will need to look elsewhere for dining.
There’s no need to worry about food options, though—Centertown Market is still serving quick meals, and Banana Cabana remains a great place to grab a drink and unwind.
Over at Magic Kingdom, Astro Orbiter is currently closed for refurbishment, and there’s no word yet on when—or if—it will reopen. Some believe Disney is simply giving the ride a refresh, while others speculate it could be permanently removed.
Meanwhile, the play area for Dumbo the Flying Elephant in Fantasyland was supposed to undergo a refurbishment earlier, but now it’s been pushed back to later in 2025. The ride itself will still be open, but the interactive playground won’t be available for a while.
At Disney’s Pop Century Resort, rooms are getting a major facelift. Disney has already filed permits for a lengthy refurbishment, meaning some sections of the resort might be closed off as updates are made. While the resort is staying open, guests should be aware that certain buildings may be unavailable during their stay.
Disney refurbishments may be a little inconvenient, but they’re all part of the process to keep things looking magical. If you’re heading to the parks in 2025, it’s a good idea to check for updates and plan accordingly.
Whether it’s making alternate dining reservations or adjusting your ride priorities, a little preparation will go a long way. Even with these closures, there’s still plenty to look forward to, and by the time these locations reopen, they’ll likely be better than ever!
One thing I’ll miss for sure is The Liberty Belle Steamboat. Won’t be the same with the Rivers Of America & the whistle greets between train & boat. It was a piece of the past all in one. Hope The Hall Of Presidents will continue it’s eye on american history for everyone who enjoys this show besides myself. It’s one of my favorite school subjects from my educational years. Once I make my return to Disney World, I’m sure to notice the changes in store of what’s yet to come. Least I continue to the likes of character greets & rides on the WDW Railroad that delight my love of trains as Walt himself would want me to. It’s even good for my early-birthdays close to Christmas.
