Crash Blocks All Four Lanes of I-4 Near Disney Springs, Persons Medivaced

On the morning of June 7, a collision occurred on I-4 in the vicinity of Disney Springs, causing the all four lanes of westbound traffic to be blocked.

News of the incident was shared on Twitter by Spectrum News 13 Traffic Anchor and Reporter Jerry Hume who said, “Reedy Creek Firefighters & first responders quick on scene of this I-4 crash near #DisneySprings. I-4 west remains blocked after SR-535.”

While the cause of the wreck remains unclear, Hume also shared footage from Sky 13, which shows a medical helicopter arriving on the scene, presumably to medivac at least one of the persons involved in the accident. All westbound lanes were blocked for around an hour this morning.

The wreck appears to have been handled by Disney World’s Reedy Creek Fire Department (RCFD). The number and state of motorists involved remain unclear at this time. The RCFD is just one of the many facets of the Reedy Creek Improvement District that remain in a state of uncertainty after Tallahassee passed legislation terminating Disney’s World’s special district after over 50 years.
