When visiting Walt Disney World Resort, guests have nearly 25 amazing hotels to choose from. The hotels each have their own unique themes, and there is a hotel for almost every budget. Plus, guests traveling during certain times of the year can get in on some really great discounts, making their hotel stay an even better bargain. Whether a guest is splurging and staying at a place like Polynesian Village or Animal Kingdom Lodge, or is sticking to a more modest budget and choosing Art of Animation, there is something for everyone.
The same cannot be said for Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland Resort is located in the middle of Anaheim, California, and is surrounded by a number of hotels that can offer relatively affordable prices. But what if you want to stay on property? Well, then you better be ready to shell out some serious cash.

There are three hotels at Disneyland — the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel (which will become Pixar Pier Hotel later this year). The cheapest hotel was going for just under $800 per night. That’s right. The CHEAPEST hotel was almost $800. And Caitie said that she was looking at dates that were in the middle of the week in October. So, not a weekend during a holiday.
Commenters were shocked that Disney would have the audacity to charge so much for a hotel during a random time of year.

Others pointed out that most of the rooms at all three hotels were average. Disneyland Resort is surrounded by hotels that have rooms that are just as nice, but don’t have the outrageous price tag. Some of those hotels — called Good Neighbor Hotels — also offer free transportation to and from the parks.

If you are planning your own trip to The Happiest Place on Earth, then it is important to look early and look often. Make sure you check out to see if there are any deals being offered. But don’t discount the hotels outside the resort. Again, some of them offer free transportation to the parks, and maybe even a free breakfast and complimentary Wi-Fi.
But if you do decide to stay on property, then be prepared to spend big. Disneyland Resort consists of Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Downtown Disney District.
