Ron DeSantis Visits War-Torn Israel, Slams Disney

For just about one week, Israel has been at war with Hamas, a terrorist organization that controls certain parts of Palestine. On October 7, Hamas shocked the world by openly attacking Israel and its citizens. The world has condemned the attacks, but Hamas claims that it was fighting back as Israeli President, Benjamin Netanyahu, continues to let the Israeli military execute innocent Palestinians.

On Thursday, October 12, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis traveled to Jerusalem. The controversial governor is currently trying to become the Republican nominee for President of the United States. While he was expected to do rather well in the primaries, his popularity has gone down, and he now trails former President Donald Trump by more than 30 points in most polls.

Even in a war-torn country in the Middle East, DeSantis could not escape the stain that his fight with Disney has left on his campaign. During a press conference, DeSantis was asked about Disney’s lawsuit against him. He said that he didn’t think the case would go anywhere, as it lacks “merit.”

“I don’t think the suit has merit. I think it’s political,” DeSantis, a Republican, said when asked at a news conference about a new lawsuit by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The company is accusing DeSantis and his political allies overseeing the company’s special taxing district of violating the company’s “federal constitutional rights.”

Disney, DeSantis said, is “upset that they are actually having to live by the same rules as everybody else,” adding that the special district meant the company had “no accountability, no transparency, none of that.”

Netanyahu has said that he will gladly meet with DeSantis during his visit to Jerusalem. However, DeSantis may want to leave the country as soon as possible. The governor is facing a ton of backlash for the visit, considering the fact that he doesn’t condemn the Nazis who hold protests and rallies in his home state of Florida.

DeSantis Allowing Florida’s Growing Anti-Semite Problem

For months, white supremacist Neo-Nazis have enjoyed protesting in Florida. More than once, they have been seen standing right outside the entrance to Walt Disney World Resort. They spew hatred while waving swastika flags and DeSantis 2024 banners.

The actions of the Neo-Nazis are always condemned by millions of people. But one person is always noticeably absent from the criticism — Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis has no problem speaking his mind, as he often does when it comes to his dislike for the Mouse House. However, when it comes to condemning the actions of anti-Semites, he almost always keeps quiet.

When the Neo-Nazis camped out in front of Walt Disney World in June, it took more than a week for DeSantis to address the gross display. But, when he did, he didn’t call out the Nazis. Instead, he blamed the media for setting the whole thing up in order to make him look bad. He called the entire thing a farce, and never denounced Nazism.

Anti-Semitic protests returned to the Sunshine State over Labor Day weekend and, again, DeSantis remained silent. His critics called him out for being so desperate for votes, he won’t condemn hatred. He has even been referred to as the “Grand Wizard” of Florida. The term “Grand Wizard” is used for the top people who run the Ku Klux Klan, a radicalized hate group.
