Indiana Jones might be afraid of snakes, but he’s proven that he’s not scared to hit a Nazi with a swift right hook.

An archaeologist and historian etched in film history as America’s favorite unlikely hero, Indiana Jones has run from mammoth-sized boulders, escaped aliens in Area 51, and jumped from a massive zeppelin, all in the name of unearthing artifacts.

Dreamed up by a dynamic duo, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, Indiana Jones has donned his classic fedora in four iconic films: Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Temple of Doom (1984), Last Crusade (1989), Crystal Skull (2008), and 2023’s upcoming installment: Dial of Destiny.

With Harrison Ford portraying the people’s hero, Disney fans have flocked to the Parks to experience the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Walt Disney World and Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland. The Dial of Destiny release sparked an Indiana Jones pop-up watering hole in Orlando featuring cocktails like “The Weathered Fedora.”

While Disney has been promoting Indy’s newest film at the Parks, Indy’s mortal enemies emerged outside Disney World on Saturday, and Harrison Ford has much to say about them.

The “Ultimate Nazi Puncher”

Over the weekend, an unfortunate comeback and a shocking display unearthed swastika flags and Nazi propaganda during a protest outside of Disney World. Of all the fictional heroes in famous films, the “ultimate Nazi puncher,” Indiana Jones, would seem destined to descend on the scene.

With hand-to-hand fights between Indy and Nazis in both Raiders of the Lost Ark, set in 1936, and Last Crusade, set in 1938, Indiana Jones has a robust association with anti-Nazi scenes. While promoting Dial of Destiny in an interview with Kevin Polowy (@djkevlar) posted on Twitter, Harrison Ford was asked how Indy would respond to the emergence of the hate group today:

I asked Harrison Ford how ultimate Nazi puncher Indiana Jones would feel about the debate over punching Nazis in real life today. ‘He’d push ’em out of the way to get in the first punch. As well he should.’

In the interview, Ford continued:

That was a black-and-white world. And as evil presented itself to the world… it’s incalculable that this vision of evil not be confronted.

While Dial of Destiny will unlikely feature any Nazi-punching scenes, die-hard Indy fans can catch the fifth installment of Indiana Jones in theaters on June 30.
