Disney Fans Have Spoken! This Disney Event is NOT Worth It

destination 23

Disney fans have all agreed that this one Disney event is decidedly not worth the money and effort to go to.

The Walt Disney World Resort is known to be the center of all things Disney for many a Disney fan and Disney Guest. Visiting each Disney Park and taking in all the sights and sounds each Theme Park has to offer is one of the best parts of a Disney vacation at the Disney Resort.

Guests who choose to visit Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios know that they can pick from an assortment of rides and attractions—think Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, Kali River Rapids, or Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind—enjoy myriad shows like Harmonious, Fantasmic!, and more and even take in all the delectable food offerings that Disney has for Park visitors to indulge in.

Yet of all these offerings, one particular Disney fan event was unanimously agreed upon as “not worth it.”

Reddit user and Disney fan u/sperdush began the discussion by asking fans, “Is D23 worth it?” They mentioned they would be at the Parks during the event this year and were wondering if they should check it out.

Destination D23, not to be confused with the D23 Expo, is touted by Disney to be its biggest fan even of 2023. Guests who attend can “look forward to exciting announcements, see sneak peeks from the many worlds of Disney.” This year in particular, Disney has said this event will be a part of their incredible 100 Years of Wonder celebration — celebrating 100 years of the Walt Disney Company.

Despite this, fans are unimpressed and told the OP not to bother with the event.

Disney fan u/carolinejay explained that “Destination D23 is wildly different than D23 Expo. At destination D23, you sit in the same room all day and the panels rotate to you. Versus D23 Expo is more of a traditional Comic-Con kind of experience.” Another fan mentioned that it’s only good to go to if you work for the media.

Of course, despite all this, one fan said, “Even if you don’t go to all the panels, it’s fun to meet and talk to other people.”

So there you have it! The fans have spoken.
