One of Disney’s most iconic child stars — and veritable queen of the early-aughts teen rom-com film genre — is expecting her first child!
The starlet Lindsay Lohan has just announced her first pregnancy with her husband Bader Shammas, via a social media post on Instagram.
Lindsay Lohan first became a star after playing twin sisters in The Parent Trap (1998), which is a cult classic (and millennial favorite) that still emerges in the cultural zeitgeist to this day. The movie might have been a remake of the original Hayley Mills movie, but it skyrocketed Lindsay Lohan to fame.
The young actress then showed up in a variety of hit Disney movies, including Freaky Friday from 2003 (which, according to Jamie Lee Curtis, might actually be in the line-up for a sequel) as well as Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004).
Lohan became synonymous with lighthearted teen rom-com movies (and starring in the 2004 high school story Mean Girls solidified this role further), even if the actress herself became associated with personal struggles offscreen.
Lindsay Lohan has recently been making a comeback with projects like her own new holiday rom-com on Netflix (called Falling For Christmas), and so Lohan’s pregnancy announcement is being met with lots of positivity.
Almost 400,000 people have liked Lohan’s pregnancy announcement post (shown below).

“We are blessed and excited!” Lohan wrote as the caption for an image of a white baby onesie.
