disney auction

One of the most unique things about being a Disney fan is that you get to be part of an extensive and rich history of one of the most significant entertainment companies of the last 100 years. The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923 when famous founder Walt Disney signed a contract with M.J. Winkler to produce a series of Alice Comedies; this contract marked the beginning, and it’s only grown from there. It needs no mentioning that to be a part of, and own a piece of, Disney history is special; that’s exactly what this upcoming auction lets you do!

The world’s largest collectibles auctioneers, Heritage Auctions, will be hosting a Disney auction this month, from March 25-26, entitled “The Art of Disneyland: From Stagecoaches to Monorails… and More!” These are the same folks behind the 2022 immensely successful auction wherein $2.2 million worth of original Disney art and artifacts were sold.

On the subject of the upcoming auction, Jim Lentz, the director of Animation Art, shared, “With historic lots such as these, this Disney auction truly covers everything — from stagecoaches to Monorails.”

This isn’t all! One lucky Disney Fanatic might have the chance to get their hands on an original Skyway gondola from Tomorrowland or even a frontier-era stagecoach that belonged to Walt Disney himself, and recently found long-lost footage of Walt Disney and the Mouseketeers dating back to 1955 from the christening of the Disneyland Express “Snow White” bus line.

It’s all about nostalgia and the “Disney of our childhoods,” according to long-time Disney artist Kevin Kidney, and that’s what this auction delivers in spades. You can find more details here.
