Fans were incredibly excited at the possibility of the Firefly movie Serenity getting a reboot due to a circulating poster of the movie.

The Walt Disney Company is historically known to be one of the biggest names in entertainment, and the primary reason for this is that the Mouse House has an eye for properties that work and that will be successful. The company has been at the forefront of the field for a while now (despite its recent box office struggles).

For these reasons, fans rejoiced when a movie poster circulated that implied Disney was renewing a beloved (and some would say, unfairly canceled) series.

A ‘Firefly Serenity’ Poster Makes the Rounds Online

A poster of a possible reboot of the series created by Joss Whedon and the movie Firefly Serenity made its mark online, featuring images of actors Nathan Fillion, Adam Baldwin, and Summer Glau. The poster was accompanied by a caption that detailed that fans could expect an “intergalactic thrill ride” with the crew of Serenity.

The poster claimed it was for a new Firefly revival premiering on Disney+ from the series called Serenity: Echoes of Tranquility and would come in July 2024.

Is the Poster Real?

Simple answer: unfortunately, no.

The poster shared by YODA BBY ABY gained a lot of traction on social media. At the time of publishing this article, it gained over 7,000 shares, 27K likes, and numerous comments. Many fans were incredibly excited at the possibility of the movie.

One wrote, “Loved the movie and the series, can’t wait for this addition. Love Nathan Fillion and Summer Glau they are great” 

Another shared, “My daughter is named Serenity. The ship was her first Christmas ornament. I hope it’s a great addition.”

However, not only was the poster shared in a Facebook group known for creating fake posters, but it also has not been officially announced anywhere by Disney.

This said, the attention the poster has garnered is clear proof that Disney could benefit immensely from reviving the series…hopefully, the Mouse House is paying attention and will make many a Firefly fan happy.
