The film, when first announced, was set to release in the spring of 2023, on March 10. Of course, that changed when Disney announced they would be moving back the release date to August 11, 2023. And now, this date has changed once again.

As reported by journalist and Theme Park insider Scott Gustin, the release date for the movie has been moved to July 28, 2023; it was shifted up after The Marvels was moved to November 10, 2023. The Marvels was set to release on July 28 previously.

Fans can breathe and rest easy knowing that, at the very least, the release date of the highly-anticipated new Haunted Mansion movie will not be pushed back and rather is being brought up.

The movie features an incredible cast alongside Curtis and Leto; think Owen Wilson, Winona Ryder, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Dan Levy, LaKeith Stanfield, and Tiffany Haddish. The premise and log-line of this upcoming feature is “single mom named Gabbie hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest, and a historian to help exorcise their newly bought mansion; after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts.”

Disney’s Haunted Mansion is probably one of the most beloved franchises from the Walt Disney Company there is. The movie was inspired by the fan-favorite and incredibly popular ride of the same name—present both in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort, Central Florida, and in Disneyland Park in Disneyland Resort, Southern California—and is a reboot of the 2003 movie of the same name featuring Eddie Murphy. This version of the movie made $75.8 million domestically and $182.2 million worldwide.
