Disney Confirms a Big Ride Change Coming Next Summer

Disney has revealed a major update coming to the parks next summer, and longtime fans are already buzzing about what’s ahead.

The company has confirmed that a completely refreshed version of the beloved Soarin’ attraction—titled Soarin’ Across America—will make its official debut in July 2026, bringing a wave of patriotic energy to both coasts just in time for America’s 250th anniversary.

While Disney makes updates and enhancements all the time, it’s rare for a ride as iconic as Soarin’ to receive a full thematic transformation. This isn’t a minor tweak or a holiday overlay; it’s a brand-new film designed to take guests on a breathtaking journey across the United States. For a ride that’s become a reliable “must-do” at both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure, this marks a big shift in what guests can expect when they board the hang gliders next summer.

The new film will take guests over some of the country’s most recognizable landmarks and natural wonders—coastal cliffs, skylines, mountain passes, deserts, forests, and historic locations—blending real aerial cinematography with Disney’s immersive ride system. And yes, those fan-favorite scents will be returning, though with an American twist. Disney hasn’t revealed the full line-up of scenes yet, but early previews suggest a visually rich and emotionally charged experience.

One detail fans were thrilled to hear is the return of Patrick Warburton as the pre-show’s flight attendant. His original introduction became a cult favorite over the years, and his comeback for the new version immediately triggered nostalgia. Disney even featured him in a teaser video promoting the update, hinting that the company is leaning into familiar elements while still pushing the attraction forward.

The debut is set for July 2 at Disney California Adventure, with Disney strongly suggesting that Walt Disney World will receive the same version around the same time. Soarin’ has always drawn large crowds on both coasts, so a major refresh like this is expected to generate even higher demand—especially during a milestone national celebration year.

This ride change also signals a broader trend in Disney’s 2026 lineup. With new lands, festivals, and experiences planned across multiple parks, Disney seems poised to make next year one of its most ambitious in recent memory. Soarin’ Across America is one of the first big updates to be formally announced, and if history is any indication, it won’t be the last.

Guests visiting next summer will not only get to enjoy a new Soarin’ film but will also likely see patriotic touches sprinkled throughout the parks. From limited-time snacks to themed entertainment, Disney rarely lets a major anniversary pass without leaning fully into the celebration.

For now, though, the headline is clear: one of Disney’s most beloved attractions is getting a major makeover, and it’s landing next summer. If this update is any indication of what’s coming in 2026, fans should expect a year filled with big changes, exciting surprises, and a whole lot of red, white, and blue.
