When Walt Disney World Resort reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic, there were a lot of things that were different and a lot of things that were missing. One of the biggest missing things was the Disney Dining Plan. Many restaurants were closed and character dining was non-existent, so not having the Dining Plan made sense. However, nearly all Disney World restaurants are back open, and character meals have returned, so Guests have been begging to have the Dining Plan back. Finally, on May 8, Disney revealed that the Dining Plan will be returning on January 9!
When it returns, there will be two types of Dining Plans available. Let’s take a look!
Quick-Service Dining Plan
Some Disney World Guests want to get the most out of their theme park days and don’t want to spend time sitting down to eat at a restaurant. For those Guests, the Quick-Service Dining Plan is the best option. The Quick-Service Dining Plan includes:
- 2 Quick-Service Meals (per night of stay)
- 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink (per night of stay)
- 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug
Disney Dining Plan
One of the fin parts about dining at Walt Disney World is getting to sit down and eat absolutely mouthwatering food while escaping the crowds. Some sit-down dining spots even include characters that come to your table! For Guests who love a table service meal, the Disney Dining Plan is for you! The Disney Dining Plan includes:
- 1 Quick-Service Meal (per night of stay)
- 1 Table-Service Meal (per night of stay)
- 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic Drink (per night of stay)
- 1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug
When thinking about which dining plan is right for you, there are some things to remember. First, is that your party is given all of their meal credits at the beginning of the trip, and they may be used however you wish. That means that, if you stay for a week and get seven sit-down meal credits, you can use two one day and none another day. Next, the refillable mugs may be refilled at any quick-service spot in any Disney World Resort hotel. The mugs may not be filled in any of the four theme parks.
For those Guests under three, no dining plan is needed. However, Guests aged three to nine who have the dining plan must order from the children’s menu. The Dining Plans also do not cover alcoholic beverages, only nonalcoholic beverages. Those Guests who wish to order an alcoholic beverage will have to pay separately.
At this time, no prices have been released for the Disney Dining Plan. Guests can ask a Cast Member if they call the dining line. Or, when booking, you can see how much the Dining Plan increases the cost of your trip and do the math.
