Disney Dining Plan is RETURNING!

One of the best — and sometimes most stressful — parts of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is picking all the places you want to eat. Between the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and the Disney Resort hotels, there are nearly 400 dining options available to Guests. There is something for every budget and nearly every palate. Guests can dine on everything from steak and seafood, to classic cheeseburgers, Mexican, barbecue, and so much more.

And oh boy, do I have some VERY exciting news for my fellow Disney World fans! After nearly three years, the Disney Dining Plan is FINALLY returning to The Most Magical Place on Earth! The Walt Disney World Resort website has been updated and currently reads:

Beginning May 31, 2023, you can add a dining plan to Walt Disney Travel Company packages that include a Disney Resort hotel stay with arrivals on or after January 9, 2024.

While some dining plan information is currently available on the Walt Disney World website and on the My Disney Experience app, complete details and participating locations will be shared beginning May 31, 2023. Please check back on May 31 to learn more.

As the website states, at this time, we don’t know what the dining plans will look like when they return. Prior to the pandemic, Dining Plan packages had included plans that were counter-service focused, a plan that was primarily sit-down dining, as well as a plan that allowed Guests one sit-down, one counter-service, and one snack a day. Guests have been seriously missing this money-saving option. Since Disney World reopened, Guests have been begging Disney to bring back the coveted Dining Plan.

Disney Parks Blog also shared the exciting news that the Disney Dining Plan would be returning.

Time to eat! Disney dining plans will be coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels who purchase a vacation package with us starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024, which will also open for bookings on May 31. We know our guests – and families in particular – have missed dining plans, which offer guests the convenience and peace of mind of pre-paying for their meals and snacks. Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. Both plans will be a great value for families with young children with access to many spectacular food and beverage offerings across Walt Disney World.  

Disney Fanatic will update readers as soon as Disney releases more information on the dining plans that will be returning. We do not know if the Disney Dining Plans will be similar to the ones offered prior to the pandemic. We will also make sure to share the price points of the new plans as soon as we learn what they are.
