Disney Drops Major Hint at an All-New Character Coming to Walt Disney World

The most forbidden family member in Disney history is also the subject of a Grammy-winning song—and he might find a new home in Disney Parks, according to a recent Disney casting call. When 2021’s highest-grossing animated film, Encanto, swept through the theaters and houses of millions of Disney fans, they entered Madrigal Casita.

With a shapeshifting Casita home to enchanted family members like Luisa Madrigal (Jessica Darrow) and her super strength and Isabela Madrigal (Diane Guerrero) and her ability to make flowers grow, the Madrigals are no ordinary family—well, except Mirabel. Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz) wasn’t met with a traditional superpower like the rest of her family members, and she’s the only one curious about the uncle no one talks about: Bruno.

The only son of Pedro and Alma Madrigal, Bruno is a lightning rod of controversy among his family members. Unlike Mirabel, he was gifted the ability to see the future, and like many of us, his family didn’t always want to know about bad news coming down the pipe. Ostracized for his unfortunate premonitions, the outcast fueled the award-winning son, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

We Need to Talk About Bruno

In all the most famous Disney movies, at least one misfit transforms into a hero. While Mirabel is that character in Encanto, Bruno’s story arc made him a fan favorite.

A bit spooky but ultimately endearing, the oracle adjacent swept the Disney scene, prompting fans to call for Bruno appearances in the Parks. While it would ruffle the Madrigals’ feathers to put Bruno on a pedestal, Walt Disney World posted a casting call for a Cast Member to portray Bruno. Posted on DisneyAuditions.com, the ad reads as follows:

Although Disney Guests have wanted more Encanto in the Parks, this won’t be Bruno’s first appearance. He spooked Guests at Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash, and based on the job posting, he could appear at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Unlike Bruno, we don’t know for sure because we can’t see the future.

With Guests already buzzing about Mirabel’s Merida location in Magic Kingdom’s Fairytale Garden this fall, a Bruno addition will be welcome.
