Orlando International Airport (MCO) has just added a new airline with several new routes that will help even more Disney Fanatics make their Walt Disney World Resort vacations come to reality.
On Thursday, June 30, it was announced that Avelo Airlines would make MCO its newest base of operations and provide affordable air travel to and from 15 destinations.
MCO shared the news on LinkedIn, saying,
Exciting news! Avelo Airlines celebrated today the airline’s expansion in Orlando, adding its third base right here at MCO, with 15 nonstop destinations planned for the next 12 months from our airport. Today was also the start of their new route to/from Baltimore, Maryland.
MCO is already the major port of entry for Central Florida, providing a plethora of domestic and international routes that help connect people from all over the world to the Theme Parks and Resort Hotels of Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, as well as all of the other globally-recognized destinations the Sunshine State has to offer.
We at Disney Fanatic also recently reported that MCO would play host to a station for the expanding high-speed passenger rail line, Brightline. Reportedly 80% complete, the expanded route will connect MCO to Miami and the rest of South Florida and start carrying passengers in early 2023.
