Disney Genie+ is getting a little better (hopefully), as a promised feature is finally added to the Walt Disney World-based virtual assistant.
Several weeks ago, we reported that Guests who purchased Disney Genie+ would soon receive free ride photo downloads on top of the Lightning Lane access and other features the paid system offers. Today that promised change has become a reality.
Disney Parks stated, “Starting March 20, guests purchasing Disney Genie+ service will also receive digital downloads of their Disney PhotoPass attraction photos, taken in the park on the day of their purchase, at no additional charge.”
Made iconic by the now-retired log-flume ride, Splash Mountain, Disney World attractions photos have become a staple of the Theme Park experience, offering candid camera action shots of Guests on favorite attractions at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Those attractions include Space Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, Frozen Ever After, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Slinky Dog Dash, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Expedition Everest. Disney World’s newest attraction, TRON: Lightcycle/Run will also have this feature.

It should be noted, however, that all other Disney PhotoPass options provided by the official photographers in green are not included and require Guests to purchase PhotoPass Memory Maker. It is also only the digital downloads that are complimentary, and any printed attraction photos will also come at an additional cost.
While Disney Genie is a personalized tool that can be used by any Guest for free to optimize their Disney Day with tips on wait time updates, showtimes, and dining availability, Disney Genie+ is an extra cost per person per day that offers the post-lockdown FastPass+ replacement. Originally a standard $15 per person per day, its cost now fluctuates day to day.

Many Guests and lifelong Disney fans have questioned whether or not Disney Genie+ is worth it, but perhaps the addition of complimentary attraction photos could sway some opinions.
Disney Genie is also available at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. However, Disneyland Resort Guests will be getting complimentary downloads whether they purchase the Disney Genie+ Service or not.
