It appears that Disney Genie+ has clarified some things regarding its Lightning Lane access, particularly how long Guests need to wait between claiming a Lightning Lane access for another ride.

Disney’s Genie+ series is a paid service that costs $15 (USD) per person per day and allows Guests access to the Lightning Lane entrances for “2 to 3 attractions or experiences” per day at the Walt Disney World Resort. While there was always a waiting period enforced after Guests chose their first Lightning Lane attraction, there was some lingering speculation over when they could select their next attraction. Did they have to use their first line-cutting pass, or let it expire, or not? Well, it appears that Disney World has provided some clarity on the matter.

According to Disney World’s website,

Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selections can only be made one at a time. You must redeem an existing Disney Genie+ service Lightning Lane selection or wait 2 hours—whichever comes first—before making another Lightning Lane entrance selection through Disney Genie+ service. Please note: the 2-hour wait to make another selection begins when the park opens, even if you made your first booking at 7:00 AM.

In other words, Guests can now select a late-morning Disney Genie Lightning Lane without having to worry about completely missing out on higher-demand attractions. Disney World also clarifies that Guests do NOT have to be in the Parks in order to make their Lightning Lane choices. So long as Guests are scheduled to visit the Parks on that day, they can purchase Disney Genie+ and start making Lightning Lane selections as early as 7:00 am.

This clarification also comes after Disney World made the decision to limit the number of Guests who can purchase Genie+ service per day and only allow Guests to make Lightning Lane selections on the day of their Park visit.

Readers and would-be Disney World Guests should remember that both a valid admission and Theme Park Reservation are required in order to enter a Disney Park. It should also be mentioned that certain Disney attractions remain exclusively available to those Guests with an Individual Lightning Lane reservation. Individual Lightning Lane access is separate from Disney Genie Plus and remains limited for all Guests at one Disney experience at a time, maxed out at twice per day. Currently, the Individual Lightning Lane selection includes Disney attractions such as Avatar Flight of Passage, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Until August 7, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Remys Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After, Space Mountain, and Expedition Everest — Legend of the Forbidden Mountain will be added to the list of Disney Genie attractions.
