Disney World’s beloved Fab 50 statues have received a tech-savvy upgrade! These golden sculptures, which were introduced as part of the 50th anniversary celebration, now feature updated instructional signs to enhance guest interactions. Gone are the days of waving aimlessly at the statues—Disney has added clear directions on how to use a MagicBand+ to unlock their magic.

The new signs guide guests to make a circular motion with their MagicBand+ near the statues. This action activates unique sound effects tied to each character, from Mickey Mouse’s cheerful laugh to Olaf’s whimsical chatter. The signs also include a QR code linking to the Fab 50 Quest in the My Disney Experience app, encouraging visitors to explore every statue across the parks.

The Fab 50 statues were a highlight of the 50th anniversary, representing Disney’s timeless characters. While the anniversary celebrations have ended, the statues remain a cherished part of the parks. Their commemorative “50” medallions were removed, but the magic they bring continues to captivate guests.

MagicBand+ has revolutionized the way guests interact with Disney World. Beyond the statues, these high-tech wristbands also sync with nighttime shows like Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After and EPCOT’s Luminous: The Symphony of Us. The bands glow and vibrate along with the music, adding an extra layer of immersion to the experience. Plus, they still handle all the basics like opening your hotel room door, entering the parks, and storing ride photos.

The statues themselves are worth exploring. In Magic Kingdom, you’ll find fan favorites like Mickey and Minnie near Cinderella Castle, alongside Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse. EPCOT’s statues include Figment, while Disney’s Hollywood Studios features Olaf and Bruni. Over at Animal Kingdom, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa proudly represent the spirit of adventure and nature.

Whether you’re discovering these golden icons for the first time or revisiting old favorites, the Fab 50 statues continue to shine bright at Disney World. Have you tried interacting with them yet? With the new MagicBand+ updates, there’s never been a better time to experience the magic.
