They’re letting us in—on Disney’s first-ever Frozen-themed land opening its gates in November.
While Frozen made itself at home where Maelstrom hailed in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase, Walt Disney World and Disneyland only have a few snowflakes compared to the winter wonderland overtaking Disneyland Hong Kong later this year called Arendelle: The World of Frozen.
Stateside Disney Guests have become invested in the Summer Snow Day hosted at Elsa’s Ice Kingdom in Arendelle while cruising along in a log flume on EPCOT’s “Frozen Ever After.” But no one has seen anything like what the Disney Imagineers have dreamed up for Hong Kong’s Disney Park.
Audio-Anna-matronics
Disney fans have fawned over sneak peeks of Disneyland Hong Kong’s Frozen land for months, with its own rendition of EPCOT’s “Frozen Ever After” featuring Queen Elsa, Princess Anna, and Olaf and the first Frozen family coaster: “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.”
The real-life Arendelle depiction will be one of Disney’s most immersive lands across the globe, and the ultra-realistic animatronics in the “Frozen Ever After” ride are a driving force behind that. In a video shared by @ScottGustin on Twitter, Imagineers offered an exclusive look at Anna and Elsa in their reimagined forms.

Florida’s version of the Frozen ride includes facial projections on the Disney characters’ heads, but the Disneyland Hong Kong attraction gave Princess Anna and Queen Elsa a meticulously-detailed facelift. With animatronic features, the characters come to life in a whole new light.
A New Way to Wander Around Arendelle
Although Disney fanatics have caught a glimpse at the first-ever Frozen thrill ride, “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs,” @DisneyParks shared a closer look hosted by an Imagineer named Emily on TikTok.
@disneyparks HOO HOO! Attraction testing is happening at #WorldofFrozen in HongKongDisneyland! ❄️🎢 #Disney #DisneyParks #Frozen #DisneyCastLife #Imagineer #RollerCoaster
Chiseling away at crucial elements of the ride, Emily shares clips of “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs” ride vehicles and snow caps on the mountain. On the attraction, Disney Guests will cruise out of Oaken’s store and feast their eyes on a whole new Summer Snow Day adventure in Arendelle with a little help from Olaf and Sven.
In addition to the new-and-improved “Frozen Ever After” and “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs,” the Frozen land will feature themed dining, family activities, and snowy shopping sites for Guests to dive into. Set to open on the 10th anniversary of the Frozen film’s premiere, this is one of three Frozen-themed spaces Disney has in the works.
Walt Disney Studios in Paris and Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs also have Arendelle expansions on the way. Still, Disneyland Hong Kong’s version will be the first to open its gates to the public.
