When one perk closes, another one opens. At least that’s what Disney Guests need to tell themselves when the Parks undergo immense transformations.

Disney fans are big on tradition, and although the latest Disney-Pixar crazes deserve to move into the Parks, their arrival only signals the departure of classic Park favorites. With the news of San Fransokyo Square paying homage to Big Hero 6 (2014) claiming its stake in Disney’s California Adventure Park, some crowd favorites are closing, and Disney fans have mixed feelings about it.

Pacific Wharf Locations Shut Down

As a love letter to California, Disney’s California Adventure landed at Anaheim Disney Park in 2001. Disney’s California Adventure harkened back to traditional Disney, featuring a 110-foot-high bear-shaped mountain called Grizzly Peak and a classic slice of California in the form of Pacific Wharf. Complete with a bridge trembling from California’s earthquakes, the area’s theming has been praised since its opening.

But with a Golden Gate-inspired structure lending itself perfectly to an Academy Award-winning film’s retheme, seismic shifts are happening at Disneyland. According to Press Telegram, the beloved Pacific Wharf Bridge is closing on June 26 to make way for the all-new San Fransokyo Square, inspired by the fictional city from Big Hero 6.

While that means meet-and-greets with Baymax are on the way this summer, it also signals the end of beloved Pacific Wharf locations. One has already shut its doors—or windows—and Disney fans are missing the Aurora beer already. On Twitter, Scott Gustin (@ScottGustin) shared the news of The Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. (beer truck) officially disappearing from the Park:

The Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. (beer truck) at Disney California Adventure Park is officially gone, clearing the way for a Baymax meet-and-greet in the upcoming San Fransokyo Square set to open later this summer.

Where to Go Without the Bridge

While Disney Guests mourn the loss of a speedy, convenient beer truck and the gradual eclipse of the traditional California theming for the new IP attractions, the Pacific Wharf Bridge’s closure sends vibrations throughout the Park. While the bridge will return after a few weeks of construction as San Fransokyo Gate Bridge, Guests can access the remaining Pacific Wharf locations using the walkway by Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop or through Cars Land.

Disney hasn’t announced a reopening date for the bridge, but the entire area will be completed by mid-August, according to Scott Gustin:

NEW: The transformation of Pacific Wharf to San Fransokyo Square at Disney California Adventure Park will continue through mid-August, but starting in mid-July guests will be able to taste new menu items at Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería will open.

Disneyland Park previously closed the Pacific Wharf bridge for a makeover to paint it international orange, and it appears the Torii gate towers will be added during this refurbishment. Once complete, Guests can immerse themselves in the Big Hero 6 metropolis with new locations, according to Scott Gustin, including the following dining spots:

And new artwork from around San Fransokyo Square Aunt Cass Café, the second bakery café operated by Hiro’s loving aunt, The San Fransokyo Maker’s Market, with apparel and more Rita’s Turbine Blenders, a giant drink dispenser offering margaritas and icy beverages

Starting in mid-July, new samplings will be offered at Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería. In the meantime, die-hard California Adventure fans hope more of their favorite Pacific Wharf locations, like Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill and Pacific Wharf Cafe, hold their ground during the transformation.
