Disney Park’s Castle Transforms Into ‘Pandora’

We have already known for quite some time that Avatar: The Way of Water is on its way after many years of audiences’ anticipation — and now we know even more about the upcoming Avatar sequel — but apparently, the Na’vi and Pandora have dominated an entire Disney Park, too!

Shanghai Disney Resort has a new Avatar: Explore Pandora exhibit that has just opened, and the Disney Resort chose to augment the celebration by bringing Pandora and the world from the 20th Century Studios films to its Disney Guests on a whole new scale.

It’s the wonder of Pandora  Check out our favorite moments from Shanghai Disney Resort’s celebration of Avatar, including the opening of the Avatar: Explore Pandora exhibition, a first-time 4K screening, and an incredible castle projection,” 20th Century Studios wrote in the Tweet shown below. Check out some more pictures below from Shanghai Disney Resort and the Avatar: Explore Pandora exhibition!

The colors of Pandora are unquestionably stunning and vibrant, so seeing a beautiful display like this is certainly a treat. Seeing the world of Pandora adorning a Disney castle is also a surprising sight, since Disney Fanatics and Disney Guests are used to seeing more traditional castle projections during nighttime shows at Disney Parks (like the Magic Kingdom) instead!

Anticipation has been high for Avatar: The Way of Water, since the cast of the film (including Guardians of the Galaxy actress Zoe Saldana) appeared at the recent D23 Expo in Anaheim to speak about the film — and since surprises like Kate Winslet’s incredible free-diving skill and Sigourney Weaver’s return as a teenager have come up during filming!

Guests visiting Shanghai Disney Resort will no doubt be thrilled by the new Pandora offerings — but if you are not in Shanghai and you still need a refresher when it comes to the world that Neytiri and Jake Sully occupy, and you feel like a night out, then head to theaters to see the first Avatar film (starring Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington) before its follow-up sequel is released!

According to the Pandora creator and Avatar director James Cameron, the box office success (or failure) of the new Avatar sequel may directly impact whether or not the next few movies (which some of the cast have actually already filmed, according to Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana) are ever even finished and released to audiences. So you may want to get your fill of Pandora and Avatar content now!
