Disney Park’s ‘Frozen’ Roller Coaster Construction Hits New Milestone

Disney Parks’ work on Frozen-themed lands recently reached new heights with the construction of their Frozen-themed roller coaster!

Disneyland Hong Kong has a new exciting update in their journey to creating a new Frozen fan favorite: “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs.”

Since 2016, when Disney first announced they would bring Anna and Elsa’s Nordic kingdom, Arendelle, to Disney Theme Parks around the world, fans have been waiting eagerly for the attraction to take shape. The land will be home to a magical atmosphere and unique attractions and may even allow Guests to bump into some favorite characters from the record-breaking franchise.

When Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced the Frozen-themed land — called Arendelle: World of Frozen — at the D23 Expo, he said,

“Soon Guests will be able to visit the kingdom of Arendelle with all of its sights, sounds, cuisines, and traditions.”

Earlier this year, we at Disney Fanatic reported on an update regarding the construction of Disneyland Hong Kong’s Arendelle: World of Frozen, which had continued through the Park’s closure. We now have another update for you with a much looked-forward-to attraction: the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster. The ride will take Guests through Arendelle after passing through Oaken’s famous store.

At this time, despite Guests being able to see the North Mountain at Arendelle, there is still no opening date for the land. It was initially scheduled to open in 2021. But, with the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent Park closers, the opening of Arendelle has been postponed indefinitely.

Frozen fans are also waiting in anticipation for the upcoming Arendelle land currently under construction at the Disneyland Paris Resort.
