A once-dead Marvel character is officially making a comeback—and Disney fans are buzzing. It’s not Tony Stark, it’s not Doctor Doom, and it’s not one of the usual suspects. This return is something fans didn’t expect to get, and it’s about to reshape a corner of the MCU.
Marvel has revived plenty of favorites over the years, but this one stands out a bit differently. It involves a character taken out early on, now suddenly stepping back into the spotlight.

How the MCU Got Here
The MCU started small. A billionaire in a cave. A red and gold suit. And from there, it built a universe that’s touched nearly every genre. Over the years, we’ve watched Avengers unite, Thanos wipe out half of existence, and new teams like the Thunderbolts emerge.
Now Phase 6 looms, with the Fantastic Four and others on deck. And just when you think the studio has moved on from its early chapters, it pulls out a surprise like this one.

Streaming Changed the Game
Disney+ has become Marvel’s secret weapon. Instead of relying only on massive team-up films, the studio has expanded through series like Loki, WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and She-Hulk.
These shows allow Marvel to revisit past stories and experiment with how characters return. And the next comeback fits perfectly into that strategy.

A Character Steps Back In
In Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) loyal friend Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) was killed off in the opening stretch of the show. It shocked fans who followed his journey through the original Netflix series.
Elden Henson himself even said at a convention that he wasn’t in Season 2, leaving fans resigned to his fate. But Brad Winderbaum changed everything. At New York Comic-Con, the Marvel executive confirmed Foggy’s return, hinting that Henson may have been keeping secrets to avoid spoiling the story.
Now Foggy’s comeback is official—and fans can’t stop talking about how Marvel plans to pull it off.

The Comebacks Keep Coming
Foggy isn’t alone. Marvel is entering what feels like its “resurrection era.” Vision (Paul Bettany), once a casualty of Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) cruelty, will headline VisionQuest. Raza (Faran Tahir), a deep-cut villain from the earliest days of the MCU, is also returning in that series, along with the re-emergence of Ultron (James Spader).
Meanwhile, Cyclops (James Marsden) and Professor X (Patrick Stewart) will rise again in Avengers: Doomsday, marking a significant milestone for the X-Men’s integration into the MCU.

New Generations and Old Legends
Tommy Maximoff (Jett Klyne) is getting new life in VisionQuest, Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) is returning to action after her own near-death moment, and Loki (Tom Hiddleston)—who’s turned resurrection into an art form—is set to play a major role in Phase 6’s epic event film.
Death Isn’t the End
What was once a shocking twist in Marvel films has now become a staple of storytelling. Foggy’s return is a sign of what’s to come. Phase 6 is stacking its roster with familiar faces, proving that in the MCU, no story ever really ends.
Between Disney+ series and theatrical blockbusters, Marvel is leaning into nostalgia, surprises, and Multiverse magic. And for fans, that means a lot of long-lost favorites are coming home.
