The Walt Disney World Resort is determined to get its Guests properly acquainted with its AI Park day planner, Disney Genie, Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lane, and it recently added a list of tutorial videos to the MyDisneyExperience app in an effort to help Guests learn how to navigate them.
Covering both the complementary and extra-cost side of this optimization tool, the visual aides cover topics from navigating the Disney Genie Tip Boards to accessing Lightning Lane through both Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane. The last video also advertises extra magical features that come with purchasing Genie+, such as special Disney PhotoPass augmented reality lenses and streamlined access to assisting Cast Members via chat.
Since its inception, Disney Genie+ service has been at the heart of controversy among fans, especially regarding Disney’s decision to have it replace the previously complimentary FastPass+ feature. It can be argued that, for many Guests, the only reason Genie+ exists is for its line-skipping Lightning Lane capabilities. But the new videos suggest Disney’s intentions for the system go much further, as well as show a further commitment to eliminating any lingering confusion in differentiating Individual Lightning Lane Options from the Genie+ Lightning Lane selection.
