Disney is starting to embrace the holiday spirit — but not quite as much as it has in the past! We already saw Walt Disney World Resort make its usual charming overnight transformation from the standard array of theme parks to a festive holiday wonderland for Guests in anticipation of November and December holidays like Christmas (mainly in Hollywood Studios and the Magic Kingdom).
However, two Christmas staples seem to be missing from the usual decorative lineup!
One of many Disney Resort Guests’ favorite parts of Walt Disney World Resort holiday decor is gingerbread house displays — and there are two Disney Resorts that have yet to show off their gingerbread creations, making fans worry that the gingerbread displays are no more!
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort typically excels in this area, with decorations like a glorious Christmas tree that adorn the Disney Resort lobby and inspire awe in Disney travelers. However, the fan-favorite gingerbread cabin (which made its debut during the holiday season back in 2019) is not part of the decor this year!
With its rustic charm and cabin structure, this gingerbread house was a perfect way to show off the holiday treat known as gingerbread and the outdoorsy aesthetic of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. The gingerbread cabin is actually so common that it seems to have a place in the Disney Pin Trading gingerbread collection as a limited edition (3000-edition, to be specific) pin, so the real gingerbread cabin’s absence is certainly alarming.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort also does not have a gingerbread display yet — and this Disney Resort also, inexplicably, has a special gingerbread collection pin for Disney Pin Trading enthusiasts. In the case of Saratoga Springs Resort, the pin is a 2500-edition item that includes Rapunzel astride a gingerbread carousel steed (with the additional company of her friend Pascal).
Hopefully, Saratoga Springs Resort is just running a bit late when it comes to bringing out the gingerbread for its Guests, and hopefully the same is true for the Wilderness Lodge! Are you headed to Walt Disney World Resort and locations like the Magic Kingdom Park for the holidays — and for Santa Claus theme park sightings, Christmas Day festivities, the Candlelight Processional, and a free gift — this year?
