Making plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort in the near future? Take note that scheduled downtime will be taking place at several Disney Resort hotels.
Refurbishment is necessary to keep the Disney Parks and Resorts in pristine condition. 2022, for example, was met with a lengthy refurbishment of Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, with more closure time likely inevitable for the popular roller coaster.
And while we highly recommend staying at a Disney Resort Hotel to take advantage of the perk of Early Theme Park Entry (and Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for Deluxe Resort Guests), it’s important to note future downtown closures that may rain on your parade.
Disney is attempting to give its Resort Guests plenty of time to plan ahead, as it has announced three of its Disney Resort feature pools will be closed for routine maintenance from January 2024 through April 2024.
The Disney Resort pools with the four-month downtime include Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, with the announcements noted below.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort notes, “From January 2024 through April 2024, Fantasia Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim in the Duck Pond Pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.”
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort notes, “From January 2024 through April 2024, the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim in any of the 5 leisure pools at this Disney Resort hotel.”
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter notes, “From January 2024 through April 2024, the Doubloon Lagoon pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be closed for routine maintenance. Guests may see or hear construction work during day time hours. During this time, Guests are welcome to swim in the Ol’ Man Island pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.”
As you prepare your Walt Disney World Resort 2024 plans, if having a nice feature pool as your Disney World hotel is a must-have on your list for a Disney vacation, these may be the Resorts to avoid staying at between January and April 2024.
