The popular snowy roller coaster ride that closed in January of 2022 and reopened in April might not be open again in the Animal Kingdom Disney Park for long.
Apparently, the Walt Disney Company has started the process of closing Expedition Everest again by filing construction permits in order to carry out more renovations and refurbishments for Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.
The popular Animal Kingdom roller coaster takes passengers on a backward thrill ride through the mountainous terrain of the Himalayas, and passengers must stay cool (literally) in the face of dangers like gravity and the Yeti.
The Yeti has been a point of contention for many fans in recent years due to some malfunctions, and the roller coaster closed on January 4, 2022 for refurbishments. The renovations lasted longer than expected, but the ride did finally open again on April 16, 2022.
Since this Himalayan Animal Kingdom ride is a fan favorite in the Disney Park (and the Animal Kingdom itself is a particularly popular Disney theme park), fans of Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain who have been eagerly waiting for their Disney vacation and their return to the ride will be disappointed to learn that Disney is not done with closures for the thrill ride.
If you’re a big fan of Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, then you may want to hurry up with your Disney vacation in case Walt Disney World Resort decides to close the ride for more construction sooner rather than later! It’s unlikely that Disney World would close the Animal Kingdom ride again so quickly, but there have been plenty of surprises in Disney World recently (such as the changes to Splash Mountain and the indefinite closing of the Matterhorn Bobsleds ride), so one never knows!
