Miley Cyrus is returning “home” to the Disney Channel that ‘made’ her!
The actress and singer, who became a household name after playing the superstar Hannah Montana (a perky teenage performer who tried to combine her incognito stardom with a regular life as Miley Stewart the high school student), is finally getting involved with Disney again after breaking her Disney Channel bonds several years ago and adopting a much edgier, more risque personal brand.
Cyrus has been the talk of the town again lately due to her record-breaking new album and one particularly popular song, but now she is teaming up with Disney for a special Disney+ event that coincides with her own independent performances.
Miley Cyrus has performed Backyard Sessions many times in the past (since 2012) to promote her music; these Backyard Sessions are basically outdoor performances that are meant to have a casual feel and serve as an homage to Cyrus’s fans.
Apparently, Disney+ wanted in on the action — and now Miley has gone back to her Disney roots for a Disney+ Original special that will air very soon!
On March 10 (at 1pm e.t or 10am pt.), “Miley Cyrus – Endless Summer Vacation (#BackyardSessions)” will air on Disney+.

“Welcome home,” Disney tweeted with the announcement, adding a pink flower emoji as an obvious reference to Miley’s record-breaking new hit song, “Flowers”.
The song from the Endless Summer Vacation album has appeared everywhere, with celebrities like Kevin Bacon even offering their own iterations of the song.

According to Variety, “Cyrus serves as executive producer on the music-focused special from Disney Branded Television, which will feature songs from the album” — including “Flowers”! Performer Rufus Wainwright will also make an appearance.
