Disney Reveals Surprising New Mickey and Minnie Outfits

We have seen plenty of controversial outfits from Disney lately — some in the form of outfits worn by Disney Guests, and some worn by the iconic characters Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Minnie Mouse faced some backlash recently after being outfitted in a new Broadway-inspired version of her classic Minnie Mouse attire for the holidays, which adopted more of a loose, flowing style with pom-poms and steered far away from her usual red, white, and black polka-dot A-line dress.

Minnie and Mickey had also donned new attire for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, which is coming to a close in the spring (and will be followed by another anniversary-related outfit change soon) — but now, Minnie Mouse and her other half Mickey Mouse are putting on new outfits yet again! This time, Mickey and Minnie are changing their looks for a Disney Cruise Line anniversary.

The Disney Wish is joining the Disney Magic, Disney Fantasy, Disney Dream, and Disney Wonder in the cruise ship fleet.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse (i.e. the nautical Disney Cruise Line versions of Mickey and Minnie onboard Disney cruise ships like the Disney Wish) will be wearing new outfits to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Disney Cruise Line!

“Strike a pose with this iconic duo in their dazzling new ensembles,” the Disney Park Blog post says. “Their coordinated looks will feature swirling designs reminiscent of ocean waves and multi-toned fabric in the signature color of the celebration: Shimmering Seas.” Disney also announced an upcoming signature song, plenty of exclusive edible treats, and a new level of Castaway Club membership in the blog post.

The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of Disney Cruise Line will mainly happen between May and September of the year 2023, so if you have a Disney cruise planned onboard the Disney Wish, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, or Disney Magic, then you will get to admire these new outfits in person!
