Disney Announces Strict New Attraction Rule, One Ride Per Guest

Guests hoping to freely experience one Disney theme park next month are in for an unfortunate surprise.

Back in Disneyland’s early years, guests paid for individual attractions using ticket books. That system was phased out decades ago, with modern admission — now notably much more expensive — covering unlimited access to rides within each park.

But at one Disney park, guests are set to be limited to one ride per person in March.

Disney Park Introduces Strict Temporary Limit

As Disney Adventure World prepares to open to the general public, it will host previews for annual passholders next month.

These previews – held at the soon-to-be-renamed Walt Disney Studios Park on March 15, 18, 23, 24, and 25 – will provide guests with the opportunity to ride the brand-new Frozen Ever After.

However, as per information distributed to those attending previews, guests will only be entitled to one ride per person (via Pixie Dust DLP). Attendees will receive a voucher upon entering World of Frozen, which is mandatory to board the attraction.

The good news is that there are no limitations on the park’s other upcoming new ride, Raiponce Tangled Spin.

Notably, while there’s significant hype around Disney Adventure World in general, neither attraction has generated much excitement from Disney park fans.

The most common critiques highlight the fact that it took Disney years to build a dupe of a ride already found in EPCOT – which in itself has faced criticism, due to the fact it’s widely considered the inferior version of the attraction compared to those found at Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

Meanwhile, fans were disappointed to learn that the Tangled attraction would only be a flat spinner ride, considering the fact that Tokyo DisneySea received an immersive (albeit short) boat ride, complete with impressive audio-animatronics, in June 2024.

What Can Guests Expect From Previews?

Guests attending the park’s previews can enjoy most of what Disney Adventure World will offer once it opens to all guests on March 29.

A new indoor meet-and-greet space for Anna and Elsa will be open in World of Frozen’s Arendelle Castle, along with a Mickey Mouse meet-and-greet at Adventure Bay, positioned near the Cars: Road Trip attraction.

Live entertainment will roll out in stages. The marching band and a character moment with Rapunzel and Flynn will appear during previews, with Miguel’s Fiesta Latina and Mary Poppins and the Pearly Band scheduled to arrive later in the summer.

Disney Cascade of Lights – the park’s new nighttime spectacular that combines water projections à la World of Color with drone technology – will be presented as part of the preview experience. Reserved viewing areas, however, will not be available to book until more than a week after the park’s official opening.

Food and retail offerings will largely be operational. Most new restaurants and kiosks will open, including three kiosks named after the Aristocats kittens — Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse.

Retail will also expand during previews, with several new shops welcoming guests.
