Construction equipment has appeared on land long speculated as the future home of Disneyland Paris Resort's third theme park. While the machinery's presence confirms activity at the rumored site, the work appears connected to hotel renovations rather than the development of a new Disney theme park.
Aerial Photos Reveal Equipment Staging

Aerial photographs posted Monday by the X (formerly Twitter) account @DLPReport show construction equipment on empty land opposite Disney's Sequoia Lodge. The plot has been discussed for years among Disney Parks fans as the likely location for a third European Disney theme park gate.
“🔧 Staging is ongoing on the land across Disney Sequoia Lodge, commonly referred to as earmarked for a third gate. Don't get too excited though as it's likely related to the hotel's refurbishment,” @DLPReport explained.

Sadly, the equipment staging doesn't signal the construction of a third Disney theme park. Instead, the machinery is likely supporting refurbishment at Disney's Sequoia Lodge, which recently began transforming the resort with nature-inspired design elements and wildlife references.
Sequoia Lodge Renovation Underway

Disney's Sequoia Lodge is taking a different approach than previous Disneyland Paris Resort hotel refurbishments. While Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel and Disneyland Hotel closed completely during renovations, Sequoia Lodge remains operational.
The phased renovation strategy allows the lobby and all guest areas—including sleeping rooms—to be updated while sections of the hotel continue hosting visitors. Disneyland Paris Resort hasn't specified when the Sequoia Lodge transformation will finish.
Broader Resort Modernization

The Sequoia Lodge project represents one component of sweeping Disneyland Paris Resort upgrades. Disney Village is undergoing major changes with McDonald's and the Disney Store both closing for complete modernization. Meanwhile, the new security checkpoint in the shopping district is nearing completion.
Walt Disney Studios Park is about to vanish entirely, replaced by Disney Adventure World on March 29, 2026. The rebranded park introduces multiple attractions, including a Tangled (2010) spinner ride, the Disney Cascade of Lights nighttime show, and the expansive World of Frozen land. Construction continues on a Lion King (1994)-themed area with a log flume scheduled for future opening. Unconfirmed rumors suggest an Avatar (2009) land may eventually join the lineup.
