Disney Vacation Magic – 12 Reasons Why We Keep Coming Back For More!

Walt Disney World Sign

Disney Fanatics know that no two trips to Disney World are alike; however there are still people who ask us why we keep returning to the land of the talking mouse. It’s hard for non-Disney fans to understand just why we love coming back to our favorite vacation spot. Yes, it’s crowded. Yes, it can be really hot. Yes, it is expensive. That can be said for many vacations though. For those out there who don’t know why we keep returning, here are our top twelve reasons we keep coming back for more!

12. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Disney is not just for kids, but for the entire family. There are activities that the kids will enjoy as well as exclusive adult activities so you can have the vacation you want. One of the selling points of Disney for parents is that it is so kid-friendly because it can be hard to find activities your children will enjoy. For the Disney goers who don’t have children, it can be a great place for gourmet food, wonderful stage shows, luxurious spas and resorts and night clubs.

11. It makes us feel young.

We love going back to relive the magic of our youth. When we take our kids there for the first time, we relive those special moments from our past. We get to be a kid with our kids! Even though some of us don’t have kids, seeing the cute little boys and girls dressed as Buzz Lightyear and Rapunzel makes us smile. Kids’ joy is infectious! We love being in such a loving and cheerful environment.

10. We like to go with different people or alone.

Every trip is unique. Going with your parents as a child versus going as an adult can be quite the contrast. Going with friends versus going with your significant other might lead to two completely different types of vacation. You may act differently with a group of your friends than on a romantic vacation with your love. If you choose to go to Disney alone, you may do some soul searching while you hop to the front of the line as a Single Rider. The people you go on vacation with – or lack of people – can really impact what kind of vacation you are going to have.

9. Some of us get residential discounts.

For those lucky enough to live in Florida or California, they get some killer discounts on their respective Disney parks. My boyfriend lived in Florida most of his life and he went to Disney nearly every weekend because the season passes were pretty affordable. It’s easy to keep coming back if you live nearby and get some great deals on tickets. I think I should start looking for a house in Florida soon!

8. We love the chance to Disneybound.

Disneybouding is a relatively new idea where you basically put an outfit together that resembles your favorite Disney character. Let’s say you wanted to dress like Minnie Mouse. Find yourself a red and white polka dot dress and wear yellow shoes and you’re a Disneybounding pro! Disneybounders love to put together all their best Disney looks and wear them in the parks. This is the adult version of playing dress-up because unfortunately, the Disney store doesn’t carry that gorgeous Merida gown in our size!

7. You have to go during special times of the year!

There’s always something new to explore at Disney. There are special festivals year round. You just have to hit EPCOT during their Food and Wine Festival! Don’t forget seeing the Osbourne Lights at Hollywood Studios in December! Oh, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom!

6. Experiences change as you get older.

As you get older, you develop a new appreciation for things. Going to Disney as a child doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come back as an adult. You might have outgrown Peter Pan’s Flight and maybe last time you were here, you were still too short (or too scared) to ride the Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster. Once you hit the ripe age of 21, you might want to taste alcoholic drinks from around the world at EPCOT’s World Showcase. Your interests change with time so it’s wonderful to go back to Disney and see it from a new perspective.

5. You can’t do it all in one trip!

Even the most experienced Disney-goers understand that we can’t get to everything in one trip, especially if we go during the busiest times of the year. It’s hard to eat at all our favorite restaurants, see all our favorite shows and ride all of the rides. This just means we need to come back so we can right the Astro Orbiter at night!

4. Every resort is different.

Disney hotels are incredibly diverse and beautiful! Sometimes we want to come back just to stay in a different Disney resort than our last trip. Everything done at Disney has been done with a tremendous eye for detail and we want to see it all! So yes, I will be going back to Disney so I can stay in the Little Mermaid room at the Art of Animation hotel because I haven’t seen it before. No hotel is the same, so I just have to see them all! More trips to Disney!

3. We love the food!

Seriously, the good here is delicious. I’m not sure what the secret ingredient is, but everything tastes better in Disney. With gourmet restaurants in every park, it’s great to try new dishes. We all still love coming back to our favorites, though. We can’t get enough of the corndogs, Mickey waffles and Dole Whip! Now I am really starting to crave some yummy treats from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café!

2. Disney’s always changing.

The Magic Kingdom now has the new Fantasyland to explore. My last trip was pre-Frozen, so I need to head back to see all of the shows and meet Anna and Elsa. There are big changes coming to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as well, so we simply need to keep going to stay up-to-date on the latest version of Disney World. Something might’ve changed since our last visit, so we should really go back just to be sure!

1. We love our comfort zone!

Hey, we don’t ask why you keep going back to the same beach spot. We like what we like. We know what to expect from our Disney trip and we anticipate hugging Mary Poppins on Main Street and eating a funnel cake in Liberty Square. It’s comforting coming back to a place we love because it’s like coming home. We’ve been coming to Disney long enough how to handle it like pros. We may not like to explore other vacation spots as much, but what’s the big deal? We’ve found something that continues to make us happy and there is nothing wrong with that! So, keep on doing Disney, my fellow Fanatics!
