Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is back! Or is it?

On the morning of April 28, 2022, Disney Parks Blog tweeted:

“JUST ANNOUNCED: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Magic Kingdom Aug. 12 – Oct. 31 during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration!”

But it appears that the tweet was deleted almost immediately after being shared.

Shortly after, Disney reshared the news–for real this time–sharing on Disney Parks Blog:

This fall, ghosts and ghouls of all ages are invited to don their favorite costumes and celebrate all things haunted during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Taking place on 37 select nights Aug. 12 through Oct. 31, 2022, this special event haunts Magic Kingdom Park after normal park operating hours from 7 p.m. to midnight.

This is only the latest Twitter mishap that has occurred for Disney this year, following the announcement of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind’s opening.

We at Disney Fanatic expected that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was going to return earlier this week as Disney Parks teased the return on social media. Due to Covid-Inspired restrictions, this spooktacular extra-ticket event at Walt Disney World, featuring Mickey’s Boo to You Parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks (R.I.P. Happy HalloWishes!), and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, was replaced with a “modified” celebration called Disney After Hours Boo Bash.

Now the not-so-spooky villainy will be back in full force.

According to Disney Parks Blog, Guests can expect the following and more!

“The Headless Horseman will ride his ghostly steed down Main Street, U.S.A. as a prelude to “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade,”… Join the Sanderson Sisters during the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular” stage show at Cinderella Castle as they call upon their frightening colleagues to conjure the ultimate “Hocus Pocus” Party Potion…The Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington, will host “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular.”

Space Mountain, Mad Tea Party, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor are also expected to get Halloween overlays.

Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party go on sale beginning May 18, but Guests of Select Disney World Resort Hotels can purchase tickets as early as May 12.

Tickets will range from $109 – $199. Here are the dates set:

  • August: 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 30
  • September: 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 16, 18, 20, 23, 25, 27, 29, 30

We at Disney Fanatic will continue to keep our readers update on Disney Park news as more developments come to light.
