A rumor has been circulating that Disney World is going to be free for Black people, in particular, during Black History Month. But is it true?
Over the years, we’ve fact-checked many rumors at Disney Fanatic. Whether it was the one about Disney removing Cinderella Castle or Disney breaking up Mickey and Minnie, we’ve investigated a lot of claims that have found their way across the internet.
Today, we’re diving deep into the article that’s making its way across the internet, claiming that Black people will be allowed to go to Disney World for free during Black History Month.
Are Black Guests Getting Free Entry Into Disney World for Black History Month?
A recent viral article and video from Mouse Trap News claims that Disney World will be allowing Black guests free entry for the month of February, i.e., Black History Month.
The article claimed official sources from Disney shared that “Disney is committed to helping strengthen the black community. This is our way of providing reparations for past injustices. We want all black people to know that they are welcomed at Disney and what better way to welcome them than with free tickets into our world-class theme parks.”
Further, the article also claims that guests will have to take a rapid DNA test at the entrance of all Walt Disney World theme parks to avail of this offer.
Of course, as devoted fans would already know, Mouse Trap News is a well-known satire news site and is most certainly not reporting on real Disney news.

How is Disney Celebrating Black History Month 2024?
This begs the question, what is Disney actually doing to celebrate Black History Month?
Disney hasn’t officially announced the lineup for this year, but based on past years, here’s what we’re anticipating!
For one, Walt Disney World Resort will likely be bringing back Celebrate Soulfully this February. Guests can “Honor Black heritage and culture through music, food, art, and much more.”
One among a few different Black History Month events at the Disney Parks, Celebrate Soulfully in 2023 hosted some incredible Black Broadway performers over the month, including, L. Steven Taylor (The Lion King), Kissy Simmons (The Lion King), and Michael James Scott (Aladdin).
In addition, Disney Springs will likely enjoy music from Black musicians in particular, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park will continue to highlight Black culture through a variety of music and art found throughout the theme park.
We at Disney Fanatic will keep you updated on any further news and developments on this soulful celebration!
