Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang have returned to Walt Disney World Resort. This time, though, they're made of chocolate.
A Rough Few Years for Muppets Fans

It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing for the Muppets at Walt Disney World Resort lately. Muppet*Vision 3D, the beloved Jim Henson attraction that anchored Muppets Courtyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios for decades, welcomed its final guests last summer.
The closure came after Walt Disney World Resort confirmed that Muppets Courtyard would be cleared to make way for Monstropolis, a new land tied to the long-rumored Monsters, Inc. (2001) door coaster announced at D23 Expo 2024. Disney has since announced plans to preserve the Muppet*Vision 3D experience through VR headsets, but the loss of the physical attraction stung many theme park fans.

The Muppets aren't gone from Disney's Hollywood Studios for long, though. Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith permanently closed on March 2, and the attraction is currently being reimagined as Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, inspired by the Muppets Mayhem musical series.

The rethemed coaster is targeting a summer 2026 reopening.
Miss Piggy Takes Center Stage at the Contemporary
While the wait for the new coaster continues, Walt Disney World Resort has given Muppets fans something to tide them over. As part of the Central Florida vacation destination's annual spring chocolate egg display tradition, Disney's Contemporary Resort is currently hosting a Muppets-themed installation in its lobby, near Steakhouse 71.

The centerpiece is a showstopping sculpture of Miss Piggy, flanked by Statler and Waldorf in their signature theater booth. Eight Muppet-themed eggs fill the surrounding archways, each depicting a different beloved character in the style of The Muppet Show's iconic opening. Kermit the Frog, Beaker, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, the Swedish Chef, Fozzie Bear, Sam Eagle, Sweetums, and Animal all make an appearance. Disney cast members handcrafted every piece.
The display is up through at least Easter Sunday, April 5. If you're heading to Walt Disney World Resort before then, it's worth a detour through the lobby of Disney's Contemporary Resort.
What do you think about Walt Disney World Resort's decision to replace the Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith theme with Muppets Mayhem? Disney Fanatic would love to hear your opinion in the comments!

I think it’s great that Disney will replace Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster because the Muppets needed love!
